Mark Haskins vs Kyle Fletcher
Starworks Warehouse, Wolverhampton, England, United Kingdom
(reviewed 11/05/2017) If you’re at familiar with these two, you won’t be surprised to hear that this is basically a mirror match, one of those “Who are you?” “I’m you but better” situations. Haskins isn’t all that used to stretching rookies and his skill set isn’t quite suited for it either, but it’s a fun role to see him play and he puts a lot of effort into it. Fletcher likewise is good at getting his ass beat and although I don’t love his grasp on facials, he’s a real endearing kid and this crowd ADORES him so it’s easy to get caught up in the moment all the same. Real sprinty match, chock full of the usual indie spots, but I’d take this match over a lot of other matches in the genre due to Fletcher’s heart and Haskins’ general sense of direction. It won’t end up near my MOTY list or anything but this is a fun little opener that I wouldn’t mind seeing again.
