(reviewed 10/24/2017) Lovely, uncooperative tag match here. This ain’t Super Generation Army vs Jumbo’s Army but if you squint a little it ain’t terribly far off either. It definitely suffers from being real aimless towards the end, basically turning into a tornado tag that lacks the focus and structure of something like 04/20/1991, but that doesn’t make it bad so much as it means it’s not one of the greatest matches ever like that match is. Daichi stands out in a bad way here, being that he’s not yet headstrong enough to really lean into a match like this, but once Hideki turns up the heat and goes in on his leg, it gives Daichi something to latch onto with some extensive leg selling that took me by surprise with its quality. Kamitani continues to improve after years of me being unimpressed by his work. He speeds all over the ring here, throwing his weight around to take down the slower Shogun and Hideki and it’s lots of fun. Shogun doesn’t do much of note but even then I’d take him over a lot of the obvious loss posts in BJW right now. Fun match here. Hardly the highlight of this show but enjoyable all the same.
