Alexa Bliss (c) vs Emma vs Bayley vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax
WWE RAW Women’s Championship

(reviewed 10/17/2017) I’ve mentioned a time or two before that these big four-way, five-way, six-way matches are usually pretty bad for the WWE women, taking away their best strengths in focus, character work, and extended selling. Thankfully, this one’s probably the best of 2017 and it’s mostly based on my girl Nia Jax’s performance, as she once again is unafraid to run all over the place and take big ol’ bumps. The powerbomb she necks on the floor here is almost disastrous and it’s hardly the only such tumble she takes. Per usual I also enjoy Bliss’ mad scramble towards the end to retain her title, which always feels satisfying even in its smallness, but the real hero once again proves to be her on-again-off-again frenemy Jax. As of this writing there are rumors swirling around of her either taking a leave of absence from WWE or wanting out altogether, both of which would be a shame, as she’s really anchored this division for the last few months.
