The Kings of the North vs The London Riots – PROGRESS Chapter 43

The Kings of the North (Bonesaw & Damien Corvin) vs The London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch)

(reviewed 09/25/2017) Strangely liked this way more than the Ringkampf vs Riots match from a few weeks before. Maybe it’s because where that one had a really good team facing off against the Riots, this one features just a pretty good team facing off against the PROGRESS gatekeepers. Even in this, the first match of theirs I’ve ever seen, I think the Kings are head and shoulders above the Riots, but due to the disparity between team quality being smaller than it was in the Ringkampf match, this match flows better as it’s not one far superior team trying to lug along a lesser team. Instead it’s two teams of somewhat comparable skill having a flawed but far more even match, and hey, it’s not bad. Some bits are real awkward, especially when the Riots are in control, but for the most part the “debuting foreign invaders vs endlessly beloved local heroes” dynamic carries the match along with some simple big man wrasslin’.
