Dahlia Black & Dakota Kai vs Jinny & Deonna Purrazzo
Elmcor Center, New York City, New York, United States
(reviewed 10/04/2017) Solid tag here, one that manages to make up for some of its shortcomings, which is more than I can say for a lot of matches in PROGRESS. The bulk of the match is either Kai and Purrazzo sprinting through some delightful, snappy, strike-heavy spots or Jinny assaulting Black’s recently-healed leg. Anything outside of that drags but is thankfully kept to a minimum. Kai and Purrazzo are the real bright spots of this one, but I have to say that the leg work from Black and Jinny is better than I’d have expected and does well to play off of SPPT/SPPC’s massive popularity. We’ve got a big finishing stretch where everyone’s trading moves, of course, but again it’s carried mainly by the two women here who are regularly showing up in WWE. The finish, with Purrazzo avoiding a boot in the corner from Kai and hitting a neckbreaker, is rather underwhelming, but the crowd eats it up so I can’t complain too much.
