Hideki Suzuki vs Takuya Nomura

(reviewed 08/28/2017) World’s strongest boy vs Strong World champion! Delightful stuff here. Should be sort of a squash on paper, but Hideki gives Nomura some room and the kid runs with it. While Hideki’s size and experience cannot be denied and thus the match isn’t a total upset, Nomura is on top for nearly the whole thing by the virtue of rock solid fundamentals and the balls to make the first move again and again. He rushes the veteran and always keeps him on the defensive and it almost works out for Nomura, who gets a few real good nearfalls here. But, alas, in the end Hideki finds his opening and flattens the kid with a butterfly suplex and subsequent butterfly hold for the win. Lovely little match between two of my favorites going today. Check it out.
