Sami Callihan vs ACH – AAW Take No Prisoners 2017

Sami Callihan (c) vs ACH

AAW Heavyweight Championship

Logan Square Auditorium, Chicago, Illinois, United States

(reviewed 08/05/2017) Fenix attacked Callihan before this match, flooring him with a Canadian Destroyer before ACH ran out with a ref to get the quick pin and win the title, making for a hot little opening for this match. Logan Square is ALL IN for it too, which is nice. Continuing a theme from the Low Ki title defense (and I guess the Kongo Kong title defense too), this match is at its best when Callihan is bumping and selling for ACH’s mostly great offense and the crowd is all about him losing. Conversely, it’s at its worst when he’s in control and acting all bad. There’s something to be said about Callihan turning into a weird, autocratic, crust punk indie version of Ric Flair, but I’m not going to say that here and now and just say: hey, this is a nice little match and I sort of wish ACH won.
