Yuji Nagata, Shiro Koshinaka, Manabu Nakanishi, Ryusuke Taguchi, & Sho Tanaka vs Yoshiaki Fujiwara, Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask IV, Cheeseburger, & Yohei Komatsu
Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan
(reviewed live) Sho starts off the match pushing everyone out of his way and yelling that he wants Fujiwara, which is, uh, a good way to get yourself shoot killed. He even gives the old man a chop in the corner. Fujiwara thus gives him a good ol’ fashioned stretching. Liger and Koshinaka tag in, and 1991 is alive and well. Cheeseburger is pretty fucking over, which is nice to see. Koshinaka tags in Nakanishi to kill Cheeseburger, and he gets up on the top rope, and I fear the worst. Thankfully Liger and TMIV shake the ropes and make him fall. Cheeseburger avoids a splash in the corner from Nakanishi and tries to lift him, but the big man falls on top of him for a pin before Liger breaks it up. Everyone takes turns working over Cheeseburger until TMIV makes the tag in. Match falls apart a bit, to the point that I’m not actually sure if everyone is on the team they came out with, but what the fuck ever. Man, Taguchi looks so weird without facial hair (he shaved off his mustache for his role as Doc Brown last night at WK10). Everyone works over Taguchi and gives Cheeseburger the opportunity to give him a big move, but instead he eats Taguchi’s ass (kinky). Komatsu takes Taguchi’s chickenwing facebuster for the pinfall. I expected nothing from this and received a fun Korakuen Hall multi-man tag match in return. Great stuff. Fujiwara, surly old man ‘til the end, almost leaves the arena through the wrong exit before a youngboy points him in the right direction.
